When Enicar introduced the Sherpa Star line in 1965, it was described as ‘The 20th century watch for all occasions’. Here is your change to own one. This gold plated, late sixties version of the distinguished model is in fantastic condition, fully serviced and combined with its original NSA made bracelet!

Enicar’s various Sherpa Star models have a distinctive design that was instantly recognised with an award at the Montres et Bijoux Genève exhibition. A conventionally round, ‘in Beckenform’ (basin shaped) dial with a slightly oval shaped outer line (a square version would be added to the Star portfolio) greatly differentiated this watch case from the EPSA cases with their long and sculpted lugs. This Star also boasts an EPSA bayonet compressor case, as well as the in-house developed AR167 movement.

The gold-plated, stainless steel case (diameter 37 millimeters) has the so called ‘Florentine brushing’, which is very sophisticated. As a finishing touch, this Star is protected by a sapphire glass; a first for the brand. The Sherpa Star was considered Enicar’s highest quality release till date. The fabulous gold tone, sunburst dial shows the date at the 12 position. A second window at 6, shows the day of the week. Notice the incredible depth this dial sports!

Lug size is 20 millimeters. The watch comes with its original gold capped NSA made bracelet, signed with the Saturn logo. Additional links will be provided.

This Enicar is over five decades old. It is running as it should and it was serviced by my trusted watchmaker in 2025. A word of advice: don’t go swimming or showering with a vintage watch on your wrist. It is not waterproof anymore after all these years.
