Description

Late sixties vibe, ready to wear

For sale is an Enicar 340 from my personal collection (also featured in the Enicar book, page 176). This one has all the space age vibe. It was introduced in the late 1960s and is powered by Enicar’s own AR1167 day/date automatic movement. Considering the age, the condition is excellent.

The squared shaped, partially brushed case of this Enicar measures 37 mm in diameter. The faceted plexiglass (9 sided cut acrylic) has minimal scuffs and looks very nice overall.  The crown is signed with the Saturn logo. The gradient brown-grey dial has a contrasting white chapter ring that adds a lot of depth to the watch. The characteristic applied Saturn logo with its golden glow is another eye catcher. Hands are nicely detailed and the lumen is still fully intact. The case back shows some traces of use, but all markings are still easily readable.

Lug size is 20 millimeters. The watch comes with a new old stock brown-orange tanned leather band that will fit a medium to large wrist. Ready to wear!

This Enicar is more than 50 years old. It is running as it should, but the service history is unknown, so an oil change is recommended. A word of advice: don’t go swimming or showering with a vintage watch on your wrist. It is not waterproof anymore after all these years.
