Blue dial Sherpa 320 with original bracelet and strap
For sale is a Sherpa 320 from my personal collection (also featured in the Enicar book, page 177). This may be the ultimate Enicar space age watch. It was introduced in the Autumn of 1971 and powered by Enicar’s own AR1167 day/date automatic movement. Considering the age, the condition is very good.
The oval shaped, partially brushed case of this Enicar measures 41mm in diameter. The sapphire crystal has only a hairline scratch and looks very nice overall. The crown is signed with the Saturn logo. The deep blue sunburst dial has a contrasting white chapter ring that adds a lot of depth to the watch. The characteristic applied Saturn logo with its golden glow is another eye catcher. Hands are nicely detailed and the lumen is still fully intact. The case back shows some traces of use, but all markings are still easily readable.
Lug size is 24 millimeters. The watch comes with its original bracelet that will fit a small to medium wrist. This bracelet has been used, but it wears well and the clasp closes firm and tight. I will add the original, mint condition black leather strap with original Enicar buckle.
This Enicar is more than 50 years old. It is running as it should, but the service history is unknown, so an oil change is recommended. A word of advice: don’t go swimming or showering with a vintage watch on your wrist. It is not waterproof anymore after all these years.
