Brand new from the 1970s

Imagine it is 1975 and you’re eying the window of an Enicar dealer. You may have seen this sparkling fresh Enicar in its original presentation box. This beauty was sourced from a Canadian watch maker and it is ready to wear, since the in house built AR165 automatic movement was serviced recently.

This Enicar watch comes with a brushed gold-plated case (ref. 165-54-38) that measures 40 millimeters (excluding the signed crown). All edges are razor-sharp. The slightly domed acrylic crystal is flawless. The gold-tone dial displays a fantastic pattern and features the applied Saturn logo prominently positioned beneath the top marker. The matching gold-tone hands perfectly complement the overall vibe of the watch.

Lug size is 18 millimeters. I have matched the watch with a new old stock brown leather strap and a gold tone Enicar clasp, since the original strap was completely dried out. And as a bonus, the original Enicar presentation box is included. Viva 1970s faux wood!

This Enicar is over five decades old. It is running as it should and it was services by the previous owner. A word of advice: don’t go swimming or showering with a vintage watch on your wrist. It is not waterproof anymore after all these years.
